Christmas Day & Boxing Day at Fort Meezer.

Shoko that was the best Christmas ever.  It was fun watching you go hairy in the loose paper and Christmas Bags.  Notice all the toys on the chesterfield and you’re lookin’ to see if mom missed anything.

That’s my sis, ever helpful.

We got a chirping bird that drives mom nuts.  It never seems to quit.  You can see it in the above picture.  The goldfish lost its “gulping” pretty quick but the bird’s hanging in there.

We both got some turkey when mom and dad got home from going to a friend’s for Christmas dinner.  We discovered that we like fancy feast turkey way better than what the humans eat.                                                                               

Today has been a riot what with a box of my own.

First, I check for any intruders that want my box. No, Shoko is washing her face. Ok, here I come!! “Look out below!”

Dad are you watching me? I did good.

A very White Christmas on Thankful Thursday

We got a heavy snowfall warning yesterday afternoon.  It snowed so hard we couldn’t see across the street.

Shoko looked out over her deck after the snow and couldn’t see anything but snow.

I was just hanging about where it was warm. mol   We are thankful there is a warm house for us to relax and mellow.  So we are joining  Brian’s Thankful Thursday,

 

A Walk On the Warm Side

It’s warm as toasted nip out there, Tyebe.  It’s gorgeous and its calling us, Shoko.  Look at the flies!!  I haven’t seen flies since last year.                                                               
I don’t like the buzzing they perform either but it’s nice to know they’re back.  Let’s go into the Lane and see if the mud is road again.

Yuck!! It’s still muddy. My paws keep getting sucked into the muck. Let’s try and run through lawns to get to the crappy house.

We made it to the crappy house and it looks like it had a hard winter.

In Purrsuit of Flavours…..For 2021!

Holy Catmando, Shoko.  The next  episode of In Purrsuit of Flavours will be the first for 2021.  A new year and new hope brings promise.  What shall we make to honour this new year?  I dunno……how about it Nelly do you have any ideas?                                                 

What do you mean….”NO”.   What are we going to do with the leftovers? I know….let’s throw them away and start over again.

I don’t know Tyebe. I don’t think mom would be happy with us throwing food away.  Mom wants to use up the old stuff…..I know… we’ll FREEZE IT!  Then nobody’ll want it Tyebe cause everybody knows it’s old enough to start  growing whiskers.  In fact dad won’t want anything frozen just in case freezing old food has become mom’s pastime.  Bad idea.  In fact let’s help mom clean out the freezer.

Hey you two how about sauces.  They can fancy up a so-so dish!  They can be added to foods that are just tiring to have once again.  They almost make the meal taste different….like fancied up!   Good idea, Nelly!

There you have it. Sauces will be the next selection on the menu for Wednesday the 6th of January.

Friday and its still snowing.  Everything is white now.  We are tucked away in our beds.  Me, I’m in my Murphy bed and Shoko’s on the basket on mom’s desk.

You gonna try going out Shoko?  No mousin’ way!  It’s -42C out there.  That’s enough to freeze one in their tracks.  I’m stayin’ inside where it’s warm and comfy.

It was a very cool night. The temperature got down to -2C.(28.4F).   The garden flowers are gone for another year.  There was ice on the outdoor water bowl.  Dad had a feeling the temperature would dip below freezing so he brought the cherry tomatoes up to the house and they didn’t freeze!

Mew Like a Pirate Day

It’s that time of the year for “Meow Like A Pirate Day”  ye mateys.

Selfie Sunday with Budd

A fine Sunday here with bright sunshine and warming temperatures.  Shoko and Tyebe are outside playing so I said I’ll gladly pose and click my selfie.  The Cat On My Head is hosting the selfies so slide on over and either take your selfie or congratulate your friends on their efforts.

We are renewing the kitchen with a few renos so the cat food is in bins, no kitty can go pawing through the goodies.  I am guarding these goodies so if a hole develops in the side of the bin. I can rescue a few morsals.                                                           

Have a super day and watch out for those featherless birds…..also called mouses….they are in abundance right now.
